Twisted Olive

Within the gleaming steel and glass edifice of Jean Nouvel’s iconic Doha Tower, Bergman Interiors has created a bistro design that feels like a gentle oasis. The colour green is the lush, natural thread woven throughout, lending calm to each area. At the heart is the bar, clad in iridescent emerald tiles. The shade is picked up again in the green of the velvet banquettes, then echoed in the artworks and the grey-green foliage of the olive trees. Screens resembling quaint garden fences shelter diners from the busy shopping mall, so while they eat they feel truly immersed in this haven of light, greenery and dappled shadows. Abstract paintings are inspired by the spices and flavours on offer, worked in the golden browns of cardamom and ginger, pistachio greens and the blush of rosewater. This little oasis has made a name for itself in a short period of time, becoming one of the best restaurants in Qatar with its textures of woven cane, cool terrazzo tiles and crisp linen complete the refreshing mood for this bistro that was awarded Best Breakfast in Doha in 2021.
