Our concept – that the UK’s first high-end boutique boxing gym Boxing Club could feel as elegant as an elite members’ club – proved to be an outright winner. On the gym floor, the boxing ring takes centre stage, acting as a focal point for clients working on their cardio, while murals by Ben Slow are reminders of boxing’s backstory. Away from the action, the energy dials down for a more relaxed mood. At Joe and the Juice café, banquettes in soft cognac leather sit next to polished concrete and visual dividers are formed from lengths of braided leather, custom made in Italy. In the changing rooms, a spa-like serenity reigns, with Scandi-like timbers in the women’s zone and dark backlit mirrors and bronze accents in the men’s spaces. In the all wellness spa, the sauna, steam room and ice basin reiterate the escapist mood. With timeless spaces that work hard and play hard, BXR is backed by world champion Anthony Joshua.
